Redstone 5 is the next feature update for Windows 10

Windows 10 more productive with Redstone 5

30.05.2018
Redstone 5 is the code name of the upcoming Windows 10 version. The April update is just out. See the news Windows 10 Spring Creators or April 2018 Update

Redstone 5 promises some interesting features. Microsoft reveals and implements the features for the outside world very early on.

With the new feature update for Windows you can expect the following features:

  • Set
  • drilled out clipboard
  • new preview function in the start menu

Sets - tab feature

The sets named by Microsoft are intended to group topics that you are currently working on and these topics are overarching. One likes to take the browser as an example. A window with several tabs stands for a topic, only the sets are not limited to websites. So the idea of Microsoft is instead of splitting everything you are working on into different windows, Sets combines all content in one window with several tabs.

Power clipboard

This is what I call the upcoming new clipboard from Microsoft ;-)

A clipboard has been around for a long time, but now it's really coming. With the key combination Windows key + V you can get an overview of the elements in the cache. This means that Windows 10 can finally hold several elements at the same time, for example a text and an HTML code, which can then be copied fluently and then simply pasted later. If you want to use such a function at the moment, you would have to install an extra program. I think it's a very useful feature, but that's not enough. Microsoft goes one step further. If you use the same Windows account on several computers, you can even get access to a clipboard across computers - so of course everything is via the cloud nowadays ;-)

Preview function in the start menu

Microsoft's favorite playground is the start menu, but the new preview function is also very useful. This allows you to start a program you are looking for as an admin with one click. Anyone who works a lot of Windows will probably learn to love this new feature very quickly.
