Paragon launches Disk Wiper 11

13.02.2012/11/XNUMX - With the optimized version of their Disk Wiper data eraser, the Paragon Software Group continues to ensure the highest security standards. Paragon Disk Wiper XNUMX Personal and Professional have once again increased their security and also support the current generation of hard drives. With the help of a detailed deletion report, the success of the individual operations can now be traced immediately.

Digital document shredder relaunched

Data backup is essential - word of this has got around among many PC users. What few backup-sensitive users know: Comprehensive security also means that confidential documents that are no longer required are irretrievably removed so that they do not fall into the wrong hands. A digital "document shredder" is therefore required for the reliable deletion of data. This rule applies to private users, but especially to the corporate sector. Since the Paragon Software Group considers this topic to be just as important as the actual data backup, it is launching its tried and tested Disk Wiper in a new, optimized version. The 11 version has increased in support of the latest hard drive standards, in optimizing data security and in checking the erasure operations carried out.

Bank details, photos and private e-mails don't belong in the wrong hands
You only have to go back a few years in thought: Personal data was not yet stored in digital form on the computer, confidential documents were either kept in a safe place or - when they were no longer needed - irretrievably destroyed or made illegible. If you didn't think about it, you had to live with the fact that bank details or private letters could get into the wrong hands. It is a little more complicated in today's digitized world: It is not enough to empty the Windows recycle bin filled with rejected photos and documents. A more careful method is required to protect confidential data from third parties. With the appropriate software, it is not a problem to restore even supposedly deleted files on a hard drive.

New: deletion algorithm and deletion report
Paragon Disk Wiper 11 overwrites data and remnants of deleted files and programs in such a way that no current technology can restore them. The process is similar to multiple shredding: the data is overwritten several times and thus made absolutely unrecognizable. In doing so, uninvolved data is not endangered. A newly developed, powerful deletion algorithm ensures the greatest possible security. However, the user can also create his own deletion method as usual: Disk Wiper 11 allows the definition of deletion patterns and groups of deletion patterns - this allows the frequency of the individual processes to be determined. Also new: a detailed deletion report documents the individual operations. This is particularly important in a professional environment so that IT managers can prove at any time that the digital document shredder has successfully carried out the desired data deletion.

"The professional overwriting of e-documents is an essential part of data security and document management," explains Paragon Managing Director Konstantin Komarov. "The current versions of the Paragon Disk Wiper have been optimized so that they also meet the latest hard drive standards." The software supports large hard drives with up to 3 TB storage volume, AFDs and sector sizes over 512 bytes.

The user can decide for himself what exactly is deleted:
selected partitions, entire hard disks or just the "free" space on the data carrier. As with the previous version, the deletion process only has a minimal effect on the system performance with Disk Wiper 11; work on the PC is not impaired. Bad areas on the hard disk are logged during the erase operation because they may still contain sensitive data. Paragon Disk Wiper 11 still supports IDE, SCSI and SATA hard drives, USB 1.0, 2.0 and, in the new version, USB 3.0, as well as the 32 and 64 bit versions of the current Windows operating system and GPT.

Companies have special security requirements
The irretrievable deletion of data is even more important for companies than for private users. Because with every work step, new amounts of data accumulate on the hard drives and network storage of a company, of which very little is intended for outsiders. While business-critical paper documents end up in the shredder, electronic data must be made "harmless" in another way. For this reason, Paragon has developed a solution tailored to companies. The officially recognized, highest security standards, such as those used in science, by governments and in the military, are decisive here (US Navy Standard NAVSO P-5239-26, British HMG Infosec Standard No. 5, German VSltR Standard etc. ). These standards are supported by the deletion algorithms of the Paragon Disk Wiper 11 Professional.
The software has the same functions as Disk Wiper 11 Personal and also has an improved script generator in the current version, with which operations can be automated and planned in advance. In addition to the latest hardware and software, Disk Wiper 11 Professional also supports the Windows Server 2011 SBS operating system.
