Bluetooth 4.0 will be available by the end of 2010

The first devices with this standard should come onto the market at the end of 2010.

The advantages of the 4.0 version are obvious.

The power consumption has been reduced to a minimum, so that Bluetooth 4.0 can also be used for devices that are operated with button cells.

Another advantage is the range.

This can now be up to 100 meters between the devices.

The fact that the radio range now extends to 2,4 Ghz will almost be a thing of the past.

Connections can now also be established in three milliseconds.
