Ecosia - This search engine plants trees

Turn your daily search on the web into new trees

Ecosia12.06.2018.
Why not do something good with daily searches on the Internet.
With the ecologically inspired website for web search ECOSIA is this possible. Any search can help support reforestation projects around the world.
Motto: ECOSIA - The green search
But how does it all work?

Since October 2014, Ecosia has been donating 80% of its revenue surplus to reforestation projects around the world.
In this way, Ecosia turns everyday technology into a tool to easily do good, without additional costs for the user.

The company based in Berlin uses the strong partner for its search Bing and so delivers very good results. ECOSIA Like other search engines, it places advertisements and is paid for clicks. The profit made by the company flows at least 80% in various afforestation projects.

For example, planting projects in Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Indonesia and Peru are currently being supported. These projects help to feed communities, preserve biodiversity and turn the desert into fertile forests again. This is not only good for the environment and the global CO2 balance, especially the local people benefit from social, economic and political sustainability.

According to the operators, around 5 million users have already made ECOSIA their standard search engine and it should be possible to finance a new tree every 5 seconds.

Ecosia also publishes all annual reports and funding certificates and makes them accessible online. News, current videos and pictures of planting projects, the local communities and the team in Berlin can be found on the Blog and in the Ecosia newsletter.

A great thing and definitely worth a try.
