Panda Internet Security 2010 receives top marks from AV-Test

100 percent malware detection, high usability and fast repairs of malware damage

In the second quarter of 2010, the test laboratory AV-Test.org tested 19 security products in the areas of protection, repair and user friendliness under Windows 7. The test report certifies Panda Security's “Internet Security 2010” above-average results in all three areas. The suite thus meets all the requirements of the practical long-term test and receives the corresponding AV test certificate.

"The realistic test scenarios of such a real-world test fully represent update functions and cloud-based protection technologies," says Andreas Marx, CEO of AV-Test.org.

Repair infected PCs

In 2010, Panda Internet Security achieved the highest score of 100 percent for the detection and removal of rootkits and hidden malware and also showed a success rate of 95 percent for the removal of active malware from infected PCs. 70 percent of the harmful components on the test PCs were removed from the software and malware-related system changes were repaired. As a result, Panda Internet Security 2010 also received 5,5 out of 6,0 points in this category.

Usability

With an average performance delay of 101 seconds, Panda Internet Security 2010 was well below the usual time of 251 seconds. The number of false positives was also lower with the software than with most competing products. This was rated 5,0 out of 6,0 points by AV-Test.
Pedro Bustamante, Research Director at Panda Security, sees the Collective Intelligence, the cloud technology from Panda, fully confirmed in the test and is optimistic about the new 2011 series: “Excellent detection with minimal impact on the performance of the PC are the core competencies our technology, which is recognized by the renowned AV-Test certification. We are consistently developing the Collective Intelligence and were able to integrate a further improved version into the recently published 2011 series. "
