Spy through smartphones

More and more people are reading SMS and emails from their partner
Smartphones and other internet-enabled gadgets encourage mutual spying in relationships. According to a recent survey by Retrevo http://www.retrevo.com 38 percent of those under 25 or 29 percent of all respondents secretly read their partner's e-mails or SMS. Although there has always been mistrust within relationships, the proliferation of cell phones and notebooks apparently makes it a lot easier to sniff after the other.

It turned out that women tend to espionage a little more than men. 33 percent of the female respondents said they sniffed at their partner, compared to 30 percent of the men.
"The possibilities of interpersonal communication have changed massively in recent years and increasingly relocated to the web. You can get to know a lot of people online today - quickly and easily from home", relationship expert Caroline Erb from Parship told pressetext. This has advantages, but it can also increase feelings of jealousy in individuals. "Whether someone is generally suspicious depends on personality and less on virtual conditions"; says Erb.

Spouses do it too
If you only look at the group of married couples, a similar picture emerges. 36 percent of the spouses surveyed said they read each other's emails, call logs or text messages. "In the past you could eavesdrop on a phone call or secretly open a letter. Today the 'evidence' has simply changed," believes Erb in a press release interview. Either way, everyone should be clear about what to do with this "proof" and what this means for a relationship, the expert points out.
Of all those surveyed, nine percent said they spied on their partner and discovered an affair in the process. Among the under 25-year-olds, it was ten percent who found out that their boyfriend was cheating in this way. In the case of older couples, on the other hand, according to the survey, only three percent have ever discovered an affair in this way. Many of the betrayed ended their relationship as a result.
