Neofonie GmbH published the first details on the WePad today, it is the device from Germany that competes with the iPad. Neofonie GmbH will accept pre-orders from April 27th.

The WePad will be available in two versions:
Option 1 for 569 euros:
32 GByte memory Full HD support (1080p) GPS WiFi UMTS standard SIM card
Without Simlock SD card slot
Option 2 for 449 euros:
16 GByte memory WiFi SD card slot
A docking station and a wireless keyboard are available as accessories. The capacitive multi-touch display is 11,6 inches and has a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. The processor is the Atom Pineview M chip from Intel with 1,66 gigahertz. It also has a card reader, two USB ports and a webcam.

On the software side, it supports Flash and all conventional formats for reading eBooks. Access to the Google Marketplace is also planned. (Ck)
