Enter numbers as text - Display leading zeros
Who in Excel z. E.g. if you enter 001 in a cell, Excel will recognize the entry as a number and only leave a 001 of 1. If you want to enter a number as text and thus want to keep the leading zeros, proceed as follows:
Click in the cell and enter Ellipses
(Hold Shift + #) enter and the desired combination of numbers. The edit line now shows the ellipsis followed by the number combination.
