AntiVirusKit 12 AVK professional

A product review from ReconditeXP (northwood-chat.com)gdata_avk.jpg

Viruses, worms, Trojans and other unwelcome guests prefer to nestle on WindowsXP computers.
In the age of the Internet, e-mail and free CD-ROMs, dangerous times are ahead for PCs without virus scanners.
The same also applies to outdated virus scanners - they are just as good as none, I speak from my own experience!

AVK (from version 12, which I have on it myself) contains versions for the operating systems Win98SE, ME, NT4.0, 2000 or especially Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition. The package consists of a thick manual (which is not needed because the program is super easy to understand) and a bootable CD, which can be used for a first virus check, if a bootable CD-ROM drive is not installed, you can use a floppy disk create that does this job!

AntiVirenKit from G-Data is based on the award-winning AVP engine, which, with its excellent heuristics and reference analysis, can also recognize previously unknown viruses by their signature. AVK has an intuitive user interface with which all settings can be easily accessed.
The program has a "virus monitor", which permanently checks the main memory access for suspicious actions.
The "virus monitor" also monitors all file accesses and thus also protects when files are downloaded from the Internet or when viruses are received as e-mail attachments. All of this can be set individually.

Similar to backup software, the data carriers, directories and files to be checked can be conveniently selected for an analysis of the data carriers by ticking the box. AVK (version 8 or higher) also takes compressed archives into account. Virus scans can also be restricted to certain file types. By default, AVK uses automatic type detection to detect file types that can potentially transport viruses.

Regular virus scans as well as Internet updates can be easily automated via the "planner" - an assistant helps with the setup. If AVK finds viruses or suspicious files on the hard drive, it can encrypt them using the quarantine function and send them to the AVK Internet Ambulance by e-mail. According to the manufacturer, an appropriate antidote should then be available within 48 hours. This is mostly the case. Then the antidote is automatically downloaded and used! (As long as you have "set automatic Internet updates").

And finally ...
Among the three major manufacturers (Norten, Mcafee), the range is the cheapest at around DM 39.95, which is well below the "normal price". The price-performance ratio should inspire you!
I only say: Safe is safe - and this is particularly safe!
