This is where the PC Sheriff SW comes in.
The PC-Sheriff SW is a software solution for data recovery.
This does not mean that it can only be used to recover deleted files.
The program is able to completely restore data, programs and configurations in all protected areas of the system the next time it is started or at other selectable time intervals.
PC-Sheriff is ideally suited for computers on which settings, programs, etc. are to be tested.
Incorrect operation or manipulation of the system have no consequences, the computer is automatically or manually reset to its initial state.
This is accompanied by optimal virus protection in the so-called "protection mode".
This version supports the protection and management of up to 4 partitions.
It is also possible to install a "ClientManager" on a separate administrator PC and manage all protected PCs in the network from there.
System requirements:
The software can only be used if the following hardware and software requirements are met:
Microsoft ® Windows ® 98 / NT / ME / XP or 2000 operating system
Application software with Windows compatible function, at least Pentium with 90 Mhz
Server operating systems, RAID and hard disk mirroring as well as dynamic drives are not supported.
Installation:
Before installing the PC Sheriff SW, a few important points should be noted.
It is recommended that you read the 13-page easy-to-understand manual.
Depending on the setting of the protection modes, a second partition or hard disk is required that can accommodate the data to be backed up, the data, configurations etc. after a restart.
In the BIOS the boot sequence must be set to C: only,
The boot sector virus protection must be deactivated and
the SMART mode for hard disks should also be deactivated, if present.

Important:
Nothing on the partitions may be changed after the installation.

PC Sheriff SW protects and manages up to four partitions.
The program:
The Pcsheriff SW folder in the program folder is only 2.25 MB in size.
The protection is not yet activated after the installation, which can be easily recognized by a red flashing star in the systray.

The operating modes:
The first partition can be operated in all modes.
1. Supervisor mode
- (The PC Sheriff is deactivated, the protection is switched off).

The following options are available in protection mode:
- Auto recovery mode
After a restart, the original state of the protected area is automatically restored.
- Manual Recovery Mode (manual)
In this mode, programs can be installed and uninstalled; your device behaves as if no data protector was installed. After the carefree testing, you decide at what point in time and after what duration the changes should be discarded. You need a password for this.
- Manual recovery mode (time-controlled)
- In "weekday" mode the device behaves as if no data protector was installed.
In the background, however, all changes that have taken place in the meantime are recorded and are retained even after a system restart. When the set day of the week is reached and the first restart, these are then discarded and the cycle starts from the beginning until the set day of the week is next reached.
