Movie Maker - Eliminate problems while running

With the Movie Maker included in Windows Vista, you can easily edit audio, video and image source material and use it to create presentations that suit your needs.

In the past, there were more and more problems running the Movie Maker program. The Redmond software company from Microsoft has taken on this problem and recognized that the cause of the problem lies in the graphics processing under Vista.

The problem manifests itself in an error message that the graphics chip used does not support the required hardware acceleration and that the program cannot therefore be executed.

Owners of PC systems with older graphics chips or graphics cards are particularly affected.

If Movie Maker does not start, at least version 2.6 described in this article is required.

Microsoft is now introducing a new variant of the Movie Maker ready, which is aimed at users who have the above-mentioned problem and sets up a hardware-compatible version of the Movie Maker.

The new version will not released as an automatic update.
It is only made available to users who have problems with the Movie Maker and who contact support.

The following Vista variants are supported:

  • Windows Vista Business
  • Windows Vista Enterprise
  • Windows Vista Home Basic
  • Windows Vista Home Premium
  • Windows Vista Starter
  • Windows Vista Ultimate

The download size is between 7 and 133,5 MB, depending on the selected download component.
