Use Vista Ultimate Animated Desktop Backgrounds from Dream Scene now

 

 

vista_system_general.png A promise is a promise, that's what you should think if you are a proud Ultimate owner. Microsoft promised us free extras for Ultimate.
We have been waiting for Dream Scene since the start of sales.
This is an add-on program that Ultimate owners only is made available and is intended to expand the functionality of Vista Ultimate with useful programs and gimmicks.
So far this program is unfortunately only available for them English version from Vista Ultimate available.

With a trick But we can already at least enjoy the animated desktop backgrounds.
Ultimate provides this to every owner in the update area English language pack available for installation.
You can reach the dialogue via:

Start> Control Panel> Security> Windows Update


You can find it here English language pack under Optional Updates (Don't be surprised that it isn't shown in the picture. I have already installed my language pack.). Make a cross and install it.
Then I did a restart and can as shown in the picture below

Switch between the user language German and English.
Go to the English language version and you have an English version of Vista in front of you.
Now go to the update function of Vista again and let us check for new updates.

dream scene and Content pack are shown. Install both programs.
You then restart the computer, change the language version again and can now set up an animated desktop background.
Right click on a free space on the Desktop> Customize choose and now as in the picture
Choose a desktop background.

And now select the installed animated desktop backgrounds under image path as shown in the picture.

By default, they are located under

K (or your Vista installation drive)WindowswebWindows DreamScene

In the lower field you can set how the background should be divided. According to the icons, this is self-explanatory.
By default, the installation (Content pack) Five backgrounds included:
- Light effects of the standard Vista background image
- Street lights reflected in raindrops in a puddle
- A flying bee

- A flowing brook
- The animation of a glowing desktop reminiscent of fire
