The new mail client under Windows Vista has been significantly revised and improved compared to the previously included Outlook Express.
Anyone who uses Windows Mail will be annoyed after a while about the always displayed start logo and want to switch it off, especially since it unnecessarily lengthens the start.
However, this is not provided for in the options.
How do I turn off the Windows Mail startup logo?
To do this, we have to change a registry key.
Start the registry editor with Start> Run> regedit> Enter
or alternatively by means of Windows key + R> regedit> Enter
In the left area of the registry editor navigate to the following key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows Mail
In the right window area click with the right mouse button on an empty area and choose
New> DWORD value (32Bit)
Wear now NoSplash and confirm.
Open the entry that appears on the right NoSplash by double-clicking and entering a value as a 1 (Hexadecimal) and confirm with OK.
Close the registry editor.
The change takes effect without restarting and Windowsmail no longer shows the start logo, which results in a faster start of the mail client.
