DEP is blocking Windows Installer

Data Execution Prevention (DEP)
blocks Windows Installer (msiexec.exe)

Yesterday I wanted to install a program that, like so many setups, uses the Windows installer (msiexec.exe). Everything went well for a while, but suddenly a message came up Windows Data Execution Prevention has blocked functions of this program for security reasons and finished the setup.
Software half installed and canceled and all for security reasons (Microsoft doesn't seem to trust its own software ??).
It's her fault DEP (short DEP, engl. Data Execution Prevention).

So I tried the settings of this DEP to change:
Press [Windows] - [pause] > Advanced system settings> Performance and then to the DEP. Here I can switch the DEP on, switch it off or deactivate it for certain programs for all programs. I'm trying to disable it for msiexec.exe but it fails.

Here comes the solution:

You have to start a command prompt as administrator (look for command prompt in the start menu, click with the right mouse button, Start as administrator) and then enter the following command:

bcdedit / set nx AlwaysOff
After a restart, the problem should be resolved, because from then on DEP is deactivated. This could open a potential security hole, but I prefer that to doing without important software.
If you want to restore one of the options that is also possible via the Windows dialog, you can do so by entering

bcdedit / set nx OptIn or bcdedit / set nx OptOut
