Move Windows 7 paging file
The swap file is used to expand the physical main memory in the computer and, in addition to being changed and deactivated, can also be moved to another partition. In the case of a backup, this has the advantage that the system does not include this file and thus some storage capacity is saved.
To do this, you call the menu control Panel > System > Advanced system settings .
Advanced system settings
The next step is under "Power" the button "Settings" clicked.

Then over "Extended" on "Change".

The first thing to do here is the hook "Automatically manage swap file size for all drives " removed. Now can "C:" selected, and on "no swap file" be switched. With the button "Determine" the change is confirmed.
Virtual Memory
Now the swap file would be completely deactivated. To put this on another partition, select the corresponding drive, activated "Manage size from system" and then confirms again with the button "Determine".
After the system has restarted, the changes will take effect.
