Enable Windows 7 multi-core processor support

Activate multi-core processors under Windows 7

If Windows 7 is installed on a computer with more than one processor core, unfortunately only one core is activated.
Why Windows 7 does this remains a Microsoft secret. If there are two cores, they should be used.

However, the way to activate all available processor cores is no secret.

To do this, go to Start >> Run.
Now give: msconfig and press Enter.

In a new window go to Start >> Advanced options.

Here now before Number of processors put the check mark.
You can now select how many processors the computer has.

Click on Ok — Apply to apply the settings.
Now only a restart has to be carried out.
