Windows 7: Remove libraries from Explorer

Windows 7 Explorer has libraries in the navigation area by defaultwin7 logo which are populated with the sub-folders Pictures, Documents, Music and Videos. If you do not use these libraries because you have your own folder structures, you may wish to hide them. To do this, it is necessary to delete a specific key in the registry.

First of all, here's the one View of Windows Explorer with the Libraries:

Of course one should do before the procedure checkwhether the libraries still have their own important files are hidden, which should then be moved.

 

 

Now you go to Windows 7 start button and gives the term in the search mask Regedit and opens the Registry Editor.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFWARE \ Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Explorer \Desktop \NameSpace \{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}

This is activated with the key remove and confirmation with the button Ja deleted.

Important! Before changing or deleting anything in the registry, it is advisable to use File > Export... save the old settings in order to restore them at a later point in time if necessary.
