Windows 7-Vista command prompt in the context menu

"Open command prompt here"
permanently add to the context menu.

Every now and then you do need it, the command prompt.
win7 logoOf course, the command prompt can be started using conventional methods or key combinations, such as pressing the shift key and right-clicking on the corresponding element at the same time.
However, there is also the option of the entry "Open command prompt here"to be permanently stored in the context menu of the right mouse button.

To add the entry to the context menu, we need to remove two entries in the registry.
To do this, start the registry editor by entering "regedit"in the run field of the start menu.
In the registry editor that has now started, look for the following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ shell \ cmd

In the right window there is the entry "Extended"cmdcontext2

This must be deleted, but first we save the key so that we can easily undo the process if necessary.

Secure key:
Mark the entry "Extended"and select" Export "under File.
Assign a file name that has a recognition value and save the reg file, now you can if necessary by double-clicking or using Right click> Merge be restored.
After the key has been saved, we can now delete the "Extended" entry.

Continue to the next extended entry under:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Drive \ shell \ cmd

cmdcontext3

Save this key as well, as described above and then delete the entry "Extended".
This ensures that the entry "Open command prompt here"is also available for drives.

Example for the permanent entry "Open command prompt here"

cmdcontext1
