But not all versions of Windows 7 are the new features on the board. Enterprise and Ulitmate version owners can use AppLocker.

With AppLocker you can block unwanted programs. AppLocker extends the "Software Restriction Policies"from Windows XP and Vista. XP and Vista only know the rule types Path Rules and File hash rules.
Path Rules does not prevent programs from being started, but only from the program folder. Programs that z. B. started from the USB stick could thus circumvent this security policy.
With file hash rules, the administrator has to generate a so-called hash value for each program, which is time-consuming. Was z. B. a software update carried out a new hash value had to be generated.
AppLocker introduces a new type of rule Publisher Rules. The software manufacturer z. B. Mozilla issues a digital signature for Firefox. The administrator can e.g. E.g. an application of a certain company, product name, file name and version can be released or blocked. Publisher Rules can be applied to all applications, scripts, installation files and system libraries. You can also restrict the guidelines to certain user groups and set exceptions for each rule.
The combination of Path Rules, File Hash Rules and Publisher Rules enables you to precisely control which applications are running on the computer.

Start> and enter "lo" in the search field and confirm with Enter> in the window that opens, click on application control guidelines> AppLocker
