Compared to the Services the Windows autostart can be cleaned much more clearly. The focus here is on freeing the system from background programs, which in the worst case scenario are remnants of software that has long been uninstalled. In addition, the security of the system has to be checked for unwanted programs from time to time. You should check every system start element carefully for manufacturer and command. Of course, certain configurations can also simply be run through and reversed if necessary.

Vista - Unroll autostart

The configuration is started by entering the command "msconfig" in the start menu:

msconfig
msconfig

The system configuration will now be loaded. The autostart elements are listed under the menu item “System start”.

Removing the check mark deactivates the respective elements. The entry is confirmed with “OK”.
