The Windows 7 logon background changer is a useful little tool to quickly and safely change the "Welcome screen" or "Login screen".

No changes are made to system files when using the tool.
Only the required folders and registry entries are created.

The desired image is saved as a JPEG file with the best possible compression in order to achieve the required 256 KB maximum size for the logon background image.
The program itself does not require any administrator rights, only a CMD file is started, for the execution of which a confirmation is required.
When adopting the selected background image, the adoption must also be allowed, which means that anyone could change the background later.
Therefore the program offers the option "Prevent other users from changing the background"to prevent this, see also screenshot 3 below.

"Windows 7 LogonUI Background Changer" was programmed with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF for short),
Known to one or the other by the code name Avalon.
It is a graphics framework and part of the .NET Framework 3.0 from Microsoft.
