Windows 8 is very much designed for the metro view (tile look). This is more annoying than helpful for desktop operation. Switching to Windows 8 is still worthwhile, simply because of the increase in performance compared to Windows 7. Under Windows 8, as is known under Windows, there are many setting options for deactivating the Metro view. The following shows how to get directly to the Windows desktop when starting Windows 8.
With the key combination Win key + R> regedit enter and confirm to open the registry editor.
Navigate along the following path HKEY_LOCAL_Machine \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon
and the key "Shell" with select, explorer.exe complete.
If the tip does not work, you can restart the registry editor via the task manager under File and undo the editing. If the editor starts minimized, click on the minimized window and simply press the Enter key, then the registry editor should start.
