At least 32 gigabytes are required for the 16-bit version and at least 64 gigabytes are required for the 20-bit version.
Windows 8 will be the first Microsoft operating system to support ARM architecture. Almost all smartphones have ARM architecture processors. This means developers only need to program their special Windows 8 apps once and all supported platforms can run the apps. Of course, a system requirement is a multi-touch display if you want to use the numerous touch functions.
System requirements for Windows 8 at a glance
- 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
- 1 GB for 32-bit and 2 GB of RAM for 64-bit
- 16 GB with 32-bit and 20 GB with 64-bit available space
- DirectX 9 capable graphics card with 128 MB memory (to use Aero)
- DVD-R / W drive
These system requirements are independent of the Windows 8 version.
If the versions are also similar, then the following information comes into play.
Maximum working memory is 4 GB memory with the 32-bit version.
The 64-bit version is supported 192 GB working memory in the Professional and Ultimate version.
The 64-bit version Windows 7 Home Premium supports only 16 GB of RAM.
