Iso images are used more and more often to create CD / DVD images, for example, and make them available as the only file for download. Burning programs or special tools that specialize in burning ISO images also makes it easy to burn the images onto a data carrier.
However, Windows 8 can do this without additional third-party tools.

How do I burn an ISO image to a data carrier using Windows 8 on-board tools?

Click with the right mouse button on the ISO image and select the entry "Burn disk image".

Now the program starts "Windows burner for disk images".

In the case of a CD / DVD drive, the corresponding one is already selected. If there are several suitable drives, the preferred one can be selected.
The only other option is the possibility to have the burned data carrier checked after the burn process. This option is not activated by default, because the process is significantly prolonged by the check.

Put a suitable blank disc with sufficient capacity in the drive and click on "Burn".

The burn process is started and the ISO image with its contents, unpacked, so to speak, is burned onto the data carrier.

If there is still data on a rewritable data carrier, it can be deleted before the burn process to make room.

Erase data carrier

That's it, so it is no longer necessary to install an additional program to burn ISO images.
