Windows 8 boots in record time

 Start Windows 8 faster.
With Windows 8, Microsoft wants to significantly reduce the boot time.

Windows 8

A video shows how quickly a laptop with a previously removed battery boots after reinsertion.
The video shows a laptop that had previously been disconnected from the power supply and which took just under 13 seconds to boot up after pressing the power button.

A survey showed that Windows 7 users would rather shut down their computers than put it into standby or hibernation because they prefer a complete restart and do not want to unnecessarily burden the battery with the low but still existing power consumption and a clean system without the stresses of the last use that the idle state brings with it.

It is a fusion of the classic Shutdown, which completely ends the user's session and the hibernation, which writes the last session into the main memory and continues at the same point when the next start.
Now the session is completely ended, but the kernel and the drivers are written to the working memory as in the known hibernation, which significantly speeds up the next start.
