Formatting, differences between quick and normal formatting

Normal formatting:

With the "normal formatting" of a data carrier, the files from
removed from the data carrier to be formatted.
Then the hard drive is checked for bad sectors.
Searching for bad sectors takes up the majority of the time it takes to format a disk, and with today's hard drives or partition sizes, this can take quite a while.

The quick format:

A quick format removes the files from the partition in question,
however, there is no search for bad sectors.
This option should only be used if the hard disk has already been formatted
and it is certain that the hard drive is not damaged.

If Windows has been installed on a partition that was formatted with the quick format function, the hard disk can also be opened later with the command chkdsk / r have it checked
after the Windows installation is complete.
