How do you back up the Windows registry?
If you want to change a registry key or subkey, you should make a backup beforehand. And this is how it is done:
Step 1:
Start - run
Step 2:
Type in regedit and confirm with OK
Step 3:
Right click on My Computer and select Export

the "My Documents" window will now open as a rule
Step 4:
Create a new folder, for example "Registry backup" and Assign a name for the file, preferably the current date.
The default file type (.Reg), please leave it that way!
Step 5:
Click on "Save" and the registry is saved, so created a backup! Easy right?
And this is what this file looks like in the created folder:
Now you can reload the registration by double-clicking if you made a mistake!
