Hallo,
suppose I want to
for an xp 32bit system with 4GB ram,
3, something addressable and
still only 2GB usable per application,
Still using more ram, this would work if I did
set up a drive with ramdisk in part of the rest of the rams and set up the swap file there?
It would be just as fast as the ram, because it is the ram
Or am I wrong
Thank you in advance for your help, again such a strange question from me
xp 32bit RAM limit with ramdisk bypass possible?

So if only 3, something are addressable, that shouldn't be due to XP but rather to the MB?!?
Have you checked how much the board actually supports?

Hi Mike,
can't sleep either, can you?
hehe ..
So, I'll write yes, let's assume
Quite simply, because I want to put this system together first, it doesn't exist yet, I don't have a system with 4gb ram yet.
But that should always be the case, no matter which motherboard, when booting the 4GB are still there, in xp then "less", there should always be this limit with the 2GB RAM per program.
I don't know whether that has something to do with addressability or other xp system-specific things :(
I would only run a single program on this system, and I would like to use this detour to send more ram to it
Good night! -
First and foremost, the mainboard must support this 4Gb. Second, there are programs (Tune Up, Cool CPU, etc.) with which Windows, depending on whether you have up to 2 - 15% of the RAM involved, the rest is then freely available to you. Addressability to a single program has not yet occurred to me if I understood correctly when you asked that you would like it to be.

So, I took a closer look at the topic and did a "couple" of tests. In addition, more information was obtained from MS and ASUS.
The result is here:

I think we'll close here then
