Hello everybody!
I've been using Kapsersky in any current version for years.
Currently it is Kaspersky Internet Security, version 9.0.0.459
Had 10 PCs on a construction site, each of which had something installed, often freeware programs. There were virus problems every week.
After installing Kaspersky, no virus problem ever came through either on this construction site or later on my private laptop.
Best Regards

Which antivirus do you use?

Hello gerhard,
but there you still have an old version. I am currently using 9.0.0.736, but the KIS 2011 already exists. You can download it from the KIS user forum. But be careful, in the forum there are reports of a number of problems with it.

So Leutz,
I was fed up with Kaspersky and switched to G Data InternetSecurity 2011.
It really works like a protection software should do - inconspicuously in the background and without slowing down in such a way! Now I have peace!
When it comes to tests in PC magazines, it always has one of the top places!

My current Faforit is currently Avast 5.
Good self-protection, simple operation and e-mail scan when sending and receiving speak for the software. -
I also had an earlier version of Avast many years ago. Back then the software was only available in English, how has it been in the meantime?
Tell us about your experiences with it!
Greetings,

Hi Olschaefer
So Avast has meanwhile become multilingual (also German).
My experiences so far have been very good.
Viruses have so far been reliably detected and prevented from executing in advance.
To update from an earlier version you need the AVAST Uninstall Tool which has to be run in safe mode.
What I personally like is the modular structure of the software.
P2P, email protection and other modules can be adjusted separately. Antivier isn't bad either. especially when you only need basic equipment.
Ps .: Avast offers a security suit for a fee.
Is then with an integrated firewall, similar to Zonearlarm Pro. -
Hi Nova,
thank you for your detailed description. That was very enlightening for me!
It's nice that the Avast folks haven't slept in the past few years either!
In this sense: "Always good protection"!
-
Microsoft Security Essentials,
But only works with original software, which everyone should use anyway!
Comprehensive protection against everything and it's free!
-
That's right kjvogel,
I also like to install it for my customers who do not have a purchased security program - provided that they have installed a kosher Windows version!
The program is from Microsoft, which many users demonize (especially the dear Mac owners), but the company MS has an interest of its own that its operating systems remain free of attacks or become again!

I use Norton 360 with integrated Norton AntiVirus.
This protection package is integrated into my T-COM tariff "Call & Surf comfort plus" free of charge. The updates are also free.
So far, I've been very pleased with the performance of Norton 360. Malware is reliably detected and immediately isolated. -
For users who want to and can spend money on their protection, Norton software is one of the first addresses!
In my opinion, it is even better than the SecuritySuite from Kaspersky, as it is extremely memory-hungry!
-
I've been with the NORTON programs for over many years
convinced.
I'm more and more excited about Linux because the software doesn't cost anything there.: p hG bubies

Linux is all well and good, but you have to completely change how it is operated, as Linux works differently.
-
ich habe
"avira antivir personal"
but my vista doesn't recognize it and keeps claiming that I don't have one.
the screen is open and avira is doing updates, system checks, etc. -
Hey ruddy,
double-click the icon, which says there is no antivirus program loaded. There you go to the security message and confirm that you are using a third-party antivirus program. Now the error message is a thing of the past!
Good luck with it!
-
Hello olschaefer
Thank you for the tip, now the error message is gone.

Lately, I've been really impressed by Avast Antivirus. The free version alone is very comprehensive and I think Avast is a real competitor for Norton and Kaspersky

Kasperski, Norten, Avira, Ad-Aware, MSE !!!
Do you use all of these programs at the same time?
This can not go well ...! -
