Hallo,
I have a Vista 64Bit on it. Since the partition was too small for me, I enlarged the partition with GeParted Live CD. Since then my Vista doesn't boot anymore.
If I boot from the repair CD and take the first point under repair, it finds Vista on F: instead of C :. I can then do the repair, but without success.
Nor can it find a restore point.
I still have an XP on the computer (other partition), but I haven't used it for a long time.
How do I get my Vista working again?
Vista no longer boots

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Don't have a Vista yourself, but take a look here: System recovery process step by step - WinSupportForum
-
I registered there and read the description in detail. I have already worked through the steps in the sequence before. Unfortunately without success.
No matter what I do, it always stays with the line "Verifying DMI Pool Data ...".
I have now tried to log in via the repair console with a Win XP CD. The Vista is recognized, but the login fails. I have no idea what to enter for the administrator PW, because my account has no PW and the admin account is deactivated as far as I know.
I stand like the ox form gate.
Nevertheless, thank you for your tip, it gives me some courage to continue.
Best regards

How about this? Use the Bootrec.exe utility in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup problems in Windows Vista
I think if that doesn't help, a "new" installation is due.
Maybe you can still save data with a live Win / Linux ?! -
Thanks, I'll take a look. I've had enough of Linux for now. I copied my data to another hard disk with Copy. It was quite a fresh installation.

Didn't bring anything. Reinstallation and everything OK.
