Hello first, I have a problem and I can no longer access my user account. I used this computer for the last time three years ago and had assigned a password which I no longer know myself. I can only log in as a guest. There is a chance ? In the safe mode it doesn't work either. I had done it at the time because of my daughter, now I have the problem myself .. hope you can help me
Thank you Carmen
Can't get to my data anymore

Hello and welcome to the forum
From Microsoft Help:
Log on to a Windows XP computer if you forget your password.
- click on Home and then on To run.
- Enter control userpasswords2 and then click OK.
- Click the name of the user account whose password you want to reset.
- click on change Passwordand enter a new password.
That should solve your problem.

I'm slowly despairing
Thank you Carmen -

-
Yes I did,
either it doesn't work or I'm too stupid
I don't have such a disk,
can't do anything at all it always comes as a guest i don't have these rights
Thank you Carmen -
Hello dark angel,
maybe it goes like this:
- Start => Run and enter CMD.
- In the following prompt you then enter
net user administrator
one. Instead of enter a new password. The old one will be overwritten without being asked for it.Source: Forgot login Pw ... what to do? - Forum - CHIP Online

Do you still have important data on your computer?
If so, you can do this with a Linux live system For example, save it on an external hard drive and then simply set up the computer again.
Edit:
E.g. With Linux Kanotix -
oh dear ...
I can’t manage that .. I’d best to throw it out of the window.
if i put the hard drive in another computer can i access it? -
If you still want to try a data recovery via a Linux system before reinstalling - here are some (somewhat outdated) instructions that are basically still correct.
