If you add several images to an Office document, the size of this file can quickly become very unwieldy. Image compression is available for Word, Excel and PowerPoint in this case. In this way, the right image size and quality can be determined for every purpose. Compared to the 2003 version, this command is carried out automatically from version 2007 onwards. From version 2010 there is also a new option with regard to the target output. Previously, you could choose between 96, 150 and 220 ppi. Now there is still the option of using the current document resolution, which stands for less than 96 ppi.

great, was able to reduce my file from 23.5 MB to 8.7 MB!
I activated compress images in file under options-extended-image size-and quality, but didn't work. Marking images, image tools, compressing images, document resolution has now been successful!Thank you!

I have now inserted an image as a background, i.e. in the header, in order to get a digital letterhead. Now every Word file with 5 MB of storage space is posted or to the server If I save the pictures compressed, the file doesn't get any smaller. Is that because the picture is in the background? Is there a solution for?
Thank you!
