Hi folks, I'm glad I was able to join your forum!
So my problem:
I will describe everything as it actually went.
My laptop is now 3 years old and everything has always worked without any major problems. It's an ACER 5720G.
When I updated my virus program last Sunday, the PC kept getting slower. Every time I opened a new tab in Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer stuck. One day later, after I had been using the laptop for about an hour, several messages came from the virus program that infected files had been found on the PC. The location of these files was the Temp folder.
Everything got slower and slower. Later the virus program suddenly reported Trojans.
On Thursday I was able to use the laptop normally (but still with virus messages) and shut it down properly from Windows with a clear conscience and without error messages.
When I wanted to start the next day, only the Acer logo came up, followed by a black screen, the hard drive indicator light was off, and nothing was heard from the hard drive. The laptop didn't respond to anything! Just a beep if you press any key several times.
I then removed the hard drive from the laptop, installed it in an external housing (it ran normally, without an error message from my desktop computer with XP operating system), formatted it normally and divided it into 2 partitions. Before that, of course, all my data was backed up.
When I was done formatting and partitioning, I put the hard drive back into the laptop and began a system setup.
This also worked, no black screen, the setup worked smoothly for the first time. When the setup was complete, I had to restart the laptop.
And as feared, exactly the same problem was again:
Black screen (after the Acer logo) with a flashing underscore. Windows hadn't even loaded. No hard drive reaction ... etc. Nothing.
I then took my other hard drive that I had already installed on my laptop. With this Windows Vista could be started as it should. However, I can no longer use this hard drive because it is broken too (at the desktop toolbar at the bottom right an icon always flashes with: "the hard disk may fail in the near future!") And I want to take the risk of lost data do not enter into any case.
Okay, I hope I've described my problem clearly.
Here again to summarize:
The laptop can no longer be started with the original hard drive. Immediately after the Acer logo, there is a black screen with a flashing underline in the upper left corner of the screen. The hard drive does not respond, safe mode cannot be started. Actually nothing. However, the hard drive works in the external housing.
With my other (also defective) hard drive, Windows can be started as it should, but I can no longer use this hard drive because it has a "Near Future Fail" problem.
Okay, then I look forward to your answers
Kind regards. Manuel
Windows does not start anymore, the hard disk does not react when the system starts

Hello
Since you have reasonable doubts about the second record and the first one doesn't anyway, I would treat myself to a new one.
Unfortunately, your warranty seems to have expired, but if you bought it from a local dealer, sometimes you can still get something out of it.To the black screen (after the Acer logo) with a flashing underscore.
I experienced this on several computers immediately after the installation and it helped to sit it out several times.
That means, let the cursor blink and the computer on overnight.
It worked a few times for me, but there is no guarantee that it will. -
A new record would be the best. Yes, the warranty has expired, but I have already written an email to the dealer, as I still have a six-month warranty on the second record.
Feedback from the dealer:
The burden of proof lies with me that the hard drive was already defective when it left the factory ... difficult to prove - so if I send the hard drive in, I'll probably have to pay for the repair myself. Or it won't be repaired and the hard drive is thrown away ... I keep the hard drive for emergency purposes or something.
A new disk is probably inevitable because yesterday I had the laptop running for about 5 hours while I was out of the house. But nothing changed, the black screen with the flashing underscore was still there.
I would be interested in the reason why something like this can actually happen. Could it be that these Trojans are to blame? No idea !?
