Oh man, thanks for the tip! So I switched my computer on and put it online because important transfers had taken place, after 5 days I came back and saw that the computer had restarted, "Updates were carried out" ... thank you very much, Microsoft. Thanks to the tip here, I hope the computer won't restart.

Since the environments can be varied and the tip works on one computer and not on another, it would be helpful for everyone to give feedback on whether the tip works. Information about the Windows version and update status would also help many.
Hope the tip helps you.

Servus, unfortunately the content did not correspond to what was announced in the heading. I thought, here's how to suppress the annoying reboot after updating W7. I think it's a cheek that Microsoft determines when my computer is restarted. It has happened to me a number of times since I got this crappy W7 box that the computer automatically reboots while I was distracted by a conversation or phone call. The last entries were then lost and I had to catch up on a few things. This is particularly annoying because certain creative inputs can never be repeated exactly or some are time-consuming. I feel it is a cheek that Microsoft (: - (((() takes so much power over my computer. I am the master of this box, not some company with a highly pronounced inferiority complex.
The automatic restart can be prevented in the following way (as I found out): go to the group policy as described and in the Windows Update folder, select the policy "Do not perform an automatic restart for planned installations of automatic updates when users are logged in" (who actually thinks of such Name? Wouldn't "Suppress automatic restart after update" have been sufficient? MICROSOFT: - ((((() activate. Explanation can be found in the help of the guideline. without always having to remember to click CTRL S beforehand.
So thanks anyway for the hint, without it I would have been able to search for the group policy for a long time. -
unfortunately doesn't work, I've had that in the registry for months.
