Wow! I can't believe that I'm the first to write a topic in this category!
So:
I have a router of the type ZyXEL P-334WT that when I go to 'Connect' normally wants the password (**********), but then it goes nuts: It always jumps from "Obtain network address" to "Not connected", back and forth.
The password is correct, I'm 105% sure.
Since I can't look into 10.0.0.138 what is wrong (that's logical, because I can't connect), and over LAN I don't know how ...
Or maybe someone who had the same problem and had to dispose of the router (this is the third in 3 years, the quality is constantly decreasing ...), nothing else will remain.
2. A PC with a WLAN stick (WL4202N) cannot access the new router (AV160N), although it can find it and also wants a password. The stick worked with the ZyXEL router, but not with the AV4202N's predecessor (was a Thomson TG585 v7). Was because that was replaced by the AV4202N.
Sorry that I have to neven you with tons of serial numbers, but hopefully a solution will be found.

Ok .... the access to the router via LAN is now possible, the IP is 192.168.1.1, but you are stuck with the password .... the problem is that the password has been changed and now nobody can respond do remember .... is there a possibility to read out this password? All I have to do is get into the router's ROM using Explorer, but how?

If you forget your password with a router, there is only one option, you have to reset the router. This means nothing else than that there is a contact on the back of the router that you have to press for about 3-5 seconds, so that the router is reset to the factory settings. If the router keeps losing its IP address, you can assume that it is defective. As a recommendation for a new router, take a look at a BELKIN with a built-in server for printing. With every PC or notebook that is connected to this router, you can send print jobs to the printer without a PC in between. And there are many other possibilities. (Google times)

Jaaaaaaa ....
Thanks for the nice answers, but unfortunately unnecessary, because I figured it out myself about 15 after creating the topic.Hard-rested, then new firmware, then new password, new name, and then I get the message: The 2 router is unnecessary because the first is limited to 8 instead of 3 users, as with the Thomson (the one to 99,9999999995 , XNUMX% belongs to Telekom, because you can't adjust anything, really NOTHING).
well .... thanks anyway for the help!
