Hi all,
I plan to install Windows XP Professional SP2 64bit on my computer. I integrated the Sata driver / chipset driver using N-Lite and then finished the iso file and burned it to CD.
The installation also starts, but then aborts with the error message that no hard drive was recognized. In the BIOS I set AHCI under hard disk mode.
The mainboard is from MSI 870-C45 (MS-7599).
Something is not going right ... Hope someone can help.
Greetings Frank

It looks like you "LIKELY" to have the wrong driver because the HDD is not recognized. Usually the driver is on the CD of the mainboard, usually the driver should be on the installation CD.
How to properly install or re-install the driver can be read in many forums, otherwise I would have to write a long time with my finger searching for the system, and everything is ready there. Google times: msi 870 c45 ahci xp driver
You shouldn't use the AHCI driver for XP from Windows but the AMD driver. Here is a link for the suitable driver that is for XP, Vista and Win7 64 bit.

XP has some difficulties with newer boards. These problems do not exist under Vista and Win7. I hope that I could help you further with this. -
First of all, thank you for your help.
I took the original driver from the mainboard CD.
But somehow Windows XP doesn't seem to like the driver or N-Lite has not correctly integrated the driver into the installation CD.
With the Windows 7 installation everything worked correctly. If all else fails, I'll stick with Windows 7. -
As I wrote with XP there can be problems with some motherboards. Compare the driver from the CD and the download offer from me, maybe there is a difference, it could easily be that the driver from Microsoft is on the CD and it shouldn't work on some mainboards, so let's see if there are different drivers There are versions, unfortunately I can't check them, I can only give tips.
