Hello
I recently reinstalled XP with SP 3, everything works fine.
The only problem: if the PC goes into standby or hibernation via the energy supply, the screen remains black afterwards. I then have to manually shut down and restart the PC, after that everything is ok again.
I have a WIN-XP-prof. CD. This problem did not occur before the reinstallation.
Does anyone have a tip?
Thank you in advance, Heino.
Black screen after standby

1. Question: Is the screen black but the backlight is on (the system is running) or the screen is black and dark (the system is not running).
2nd question: PC or laptop (in the case of laptop, which type?)
If you have freshly installed the system anyway, then simply reinstall it,
if that doesn't work either, try to get newer / different graphics drivers (in case it's a laptop, mine is one of those things) -
Hallo,
to question 1: System is running, backlighting.
2: it is a PC.
Now try to update the driver.
If that doesn't work, I'll do a reinstallation.
Thank you, Heino -
I've had the problem a few times, especially after new updates. The only thing that helped me was to switch the laptop off and on again a few times, at some point it worked again, who knows why.
I've also read that it helps to completely disconnect the laptop from the power supply, remove the battery (if possible) and then restart everything. For me, however, it didn't help. Maybe with you. -
In the meantime, Sportage must have bought a new PC.
