After reinstalling Vista Home Premium I suddenly have no sound during playback. According to the device manager, all drivers and devices are listed and ready for use.
The sound card is also listed in the device manager as ready for use. Otherwise the system runs stably without any problems.
I already googled but found nothing.

Hello
Go to Control Panel / Personalization / Sounds / Playback. Here you can activate your speakers.
-
Hello Blue,
So under sound playback I get displayed that no speakers are connected. With digital output device I get displayed is used and the level moves during playback.
However, I don't know how to change or activate / deactivate the settings. Before I do anything wrong, I'll wait for your answer.
Thank you, Noodels .. -
Hello
QuoteControl Panel-Hardware and Sound-Manage audio devices-click on the speaker and click on Properties at the bottom right and then you can activate or deactivate it.
Since I do not use Vista myself, I am writing the statement of a friend here.
I hope this helps you anyway.gruß

Hello Blue,
the settings cannot be changed, I have 2 screenshots
times made 2 screenshos.

Are the speakers connected correctly?
Possibly check the power supply.Otherwise this here:
QuoteIn Vista, the mixer (loudspeaker symbol) behaves differently from what is known from XP. Click on it once and go to Mixer at the bottom. Then a new window opens and there you can adjust the volume of the WavMix and also for each individual program ...
Check there whether the application you want to hear is set to mute. -
The digital output device that is ticked can be deactivated, but nothing can be changed in the settings of the speakers.
I have already tested the loudspeakers on another computer, as well as connected other loudspeakers.
I guess it has something to do with the sound card, but I'm just as ignorant of it!
As already mentioned, everything "seems" to be in order in the device manager, so no yellow exclamation marks or something. Attached is a screenshot of the device manager.
Oh, and thanks for your effort ... -
Hello
No problem....;)
I will refer you now (as long as no Vista user reports) this page.

Hello Noddels,
when I look at your device manager, I have to find out that something is installed in audio terms, but what exactly is not there.
Usually this chip is assigned to a manufacturer, Realtek for me, by the way. You should definitely read out this chip once and integrate the special drivers for it.

Hello Paulemann,
thanks for the help, could you also write me detailed instructions for the program. It seems that my Sonud card is no longer recognized, yesterday I had a driver DVD that was with the computer inserted and the system crashed / hung up! Thought I could get the problem under control, it was shot in the oven !!! Nothing worked anymore, the computer hung up and didn't start anymore. Then I restarted the system all night, but the sound card is not listed / recognized. I have Tune Up 2007 on it, so you can read a lot with it, but the sound card is not visible there either.

The difference in our screens may be because I read a lap.gruß
-
Sorry sitting on the hose. Suggestion 12?
-
Take the above program. Hardware> Devices> Audio, Video, and Game Controllers
Is it that hard.....??
-
Still found it, got up for a moment! A kind of device manager opens on the left, but no special card is listed, in the main window it says, the Device Manager has 187 devices ...
-
My last try.....

Here is another screenshot from SIW ...

So it stays with the device name, which surprises me very much. Microsoft (Vista) has installed a standard driver.
------------------------
1. You write above Vista reinstalled.
- Is it a new computer or have you installed Vista as the new operating system?
2. If it is a new computer, you have usually received several installation media for it.
- Driver CD / DVD included?
3. If it's an old computer.
- is there a sound card in there?
4. I always read the TV card upstairs.
- Have you ever tried, if it is an old computer, to remove it and then test the sound settings?

Take your time and answer these questions ...
