Hello people,
I recently bought the Asus Xonar D2X from amazon. After the installation I installed the relevant drivers from the Asus homepage. In the BIOS I then deactivated the onboard sound chip and its driver (should I have done this before installing the new sound card and installing its driver ........... ????). As a sound system, I optically connected the Teufel Concept E300 Digital to the xonar d2x. I can only play mp3 files in 2.1 - the onboard sound chip distributed the music to at least all 6 channels ...
As soon as I play Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Dawn of War 2 online multiplayer or offline single player with the Xonar D2X, my PC crashes after a few seconds. The result is a black screen, a very loud roar either from the sound card or from the mobo, I have no idea ... It didn't do this with older games like Dawn of War 1 and Addons. According to the manufacturer, the sound card should not draw more than 256 MB of RAM. Therefore it can hardly be the lower resource expenditure in older games. Do you think the software of the onboard sound chip, which I had not yet uninstalled as a precaution, could trigger this conflict? As I said in idle mode and with normal PC use everything is ok ... Only the newer games don't seem to work.
So I ask you to help me or what would you recommend as a solution to the problem?
Thanks in advance
I would be very happy about a positive answer.
With kind regards,
khelgar

Hello and welcome,
What is often important for new games is the DirectX software.
But might not be the latest version. You can take a look yourself, otherwise I'll have a look tomorrow. I have to go now.

The Asus Xonar D2X is DirectX11 compatible;
my graphics card (Nvidia Geforce Gt 240) is only DirectX10.1 compatible;
could this be the cause of my problem .........?
am open to any help
really don't know what else to do ...........
to all of you who will write, in any case, many thanks in advance -
It's worth trying to install the older version if it's that easy.
