No. I haven't tried it yet either. I want to change, but wait for the first reactions. After that, I'll download the ISO and reinstall it. But I'm looking forward to the first experience reports.

I downloaded Windows 10 from MS using the MediaCreationTool. The download was quite slow, took a few hours.
Installation approx. 1 hour
Everything in terms of programs and data was taken over without any problems. No error found so far.

I was able to download Win 10 on the 29th - I'm thrilled - but they still have to tinker with it

i hate win 10. it's nothing. I didn't find any improvements and Windows 10 sets little value by default Privacy and data protection.
is not recommended!!!!
In the meantime I updated to Windows 10 (without any problems) and then completely reinstalled it. Sure, it differs from the Windows 8.1 version I used before, but it's stable and was free. With the Classic Shell, I also have my favorite start menu back. For "counter espionage" there are tools like -Shut up-. If you don't want to use an operating system for various reasons - OK. But hate ???

Hello.
I upgraded from win7 to win10 via windows update a year ago and everything went great. Everything is legal and free of course. Now I have put the hard drive from the previous laptop into the new one and suddenly WIN10 wants to be activated. :( He has probably noticed unusual hardware and drivers. The activation key is gone with the old laptop!
Windows always resented a hardware change. Perhaps the tips in the two links below will still lead to success with Windows 10.

Thank you Mannitwo. I'll try that out right away.
Many readers would certainly be interested in the result of your experiment. Then report back.

The procedure shows how to find a software called "Contact Support" in Windows 10: D. I contacted the support and asked politely to activate Win 10. I referred to the tweet from a department head at Microsoft in which he promised that the activation would take place without complaint in my case.
It went
So thank you again.
Thanks for the feedback. I often read instructions and problem solutions and I am happy when someone confirms that they work.

They say Windows 7 is better than Windows 10. Is it really like that? If yes then why? What's the difference and which version is better for the home computer?
There are many contrary opinions on this. I was able to work satisfactorily with both operating systems. I see the advantages of Windows 10 in the free upgrade to Windows 10 and the regular updates and improvements. In addition, Windows 10 (to me) looks much tidier than Win 7 and should - if you can believe the test reports - also be more secure. Windows 10 is also more future-proof, as support for Windows 7 is known to end
Everyone should therefore form their own opinion.

I myself only work with Windows and I have to say that I personally use Windows 7
felt better. It's a matter of taste, but got Windows 8 for example
I kept nothing at all.
