There are quite a few of these fan documents, but I was wondering if they really do anything. Most notebooks have the outlets on the side or back anyway, so that the air practically only goes against the plastic. Somehow I can't imagine that this really has a noteworthy cooling effect.
Does external cooling bring anything for notebooks?

Basically I would say yes. But you can download a software that shows you your CPU and the temperature and then test it. The opinions on external coolers are pretty positive as far as I know

I now have a fan pad for my old laptop, which I only use now and then. Without it, it just gets too hot and shuts down
