Again and again the question arises in the forum, how do I get the virus program from Symantec, Norton, deleted cleanly?

If you go over the software variant, you will quickly find that you are still receiving updates or other Symantec things get stuck.

If you delete it manually, you run the risk of having cleaned the plate a little too much and the system might be impaired.

If you forget only a small remaining entry, serious complications with other virus scanners etc. can occur ...

Here is the NORTON REMOVAL TOOL 1.01.3 from 26.08.2005/2004/2005 for the XNUMX/XNUMX versions:

This article is not intended to call you to uninstall this program, but only serves as an aid if you wish to uninstall yourself!

With almost all virus protection programs it is essential to uninstall the old version before reinstalling it, including McAfee and Co, not just Norton!

Unfortunately, Symantec is particularly persistent when attempting a clean and residue-free deinstallation!

    Update 23.06.06 (branch)

Download all 3 files in one package with the following version ...

    Using the Norton Uninstaller

    Situation:
The Norton Uninstaller will uninstall ALL Norton 2004/2005/2006 products from your computer. It also uninstalls Norton Ghost 10.0 / 9.0 / 2003.

    Solution:
To use the Norton Uninstaller, download and run the three files. Then reinstall the Norton products if you wish.

For your convenience, print this page out before you get started.

    Step 1: Download three files

    - To download the first file, click on MSIFIX.bat. here
    - Save the file on the Windows desktop.
    - To download the second file, click on SymNRT.exe. here
    - Save the file on the Windows desktop.
    - To download the third file, click on SYMMSICLEANUP.reg. here
    - Save the files and icons on the Windows desktop !!!

    Step 2: run three files

    1. Double-click the MSIFIX icon on the Windows desktop
    2. Click on "Execute"
    3. Double-click the SymNRT icon
    4. Click on "Execute"
    5. Click on "Next"
    6. Accept the license agreement
    7. Click on "Next"
    8. Enter letters and numbers that you can see in a white field
    9. Click on "Next"
    10. Click Yes or OK at each prompt

    Important here:

    - You may have to click multiple times and the computer may restart multiple times.

    - You may have to repeat steps 10 and 11 after restarting the computer!

    11. Double-click the SYMMSICLEANUP icon
    12. Click on "Run" and then click on Yes.
    13. Click on "OK"

    Step 3: Reinstall Norton products

Now, at your own option, reinstall all Norton products from the original installation CDs or from the files you downloaded! Or another program ...
