15:00 Rockstar's GTA San Andreas has scooped no less than five gongsat this year's Golden Joystick Awards, winning Ultimate Game of the Year, PlayStation 2 Game of the Year, Best Game Soundtrack of 2005 (a new award chosen by listeners to Colin and Edith on BBC Radio One) and awards for Hero of 2005 and Villain of 2005 with main character CJ and corrupt cop Officer Twopenny respectively.
Taking place at London's Hilton Hotel, Park Lane today, the Golden Joystick Awards, established in 1983 and the major gaming awards voted for by videogames players, also saw Nintendo win Publisher of the Year and One To Watch for Christmas in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Sony's PSP took the Golden Joystick for Innovation of the Year, while Halo 2 took Xbox Game of the Year and Valve Software's Half-Life 2 scooped the PC Game of the Year award
