How do I activate the MP3 functions?

In order not to enter all of these manually in the registry, copy the red text block
and inserts it into a new text file, e.g. in Notepad.
Then the file is saved under any name, but not with the ending txt
but with the ending reg.
By double-clicking on this file, the keys and values are written to the registry
entered.

Here is the text to copy::

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ MediaPlayer \ Settings \ MP3Encoding]
"LowRate" = dword: 0000dac0
"MediumRate" = dword: 0000fa00
"MediumHighRate" = dword: 0001f400
"HighRate" = dword: 0002ee00

In the future, in addition to WMA, the MP3 format will also be available.

Note:
If the codec download is deactivated, this method does not work because the player has the necessary
Cannot provide information. If you do not want to activate the codec download,
Alternatively, you can download the wmencoder71.exe file from the Windows media page.
This file, although with a different version number, has all the functionalities and
also works with the media player 8. The direct ripping from CD works, however, as
before not.
