There were some hardware restrictions from Microsoft.

In order to be able to use the XP mode, it was necessary that support for virtualization technologies was available on the hardware side.

This function had to be activated via the BIOS for many CPUs, if available.

Windows 7

This requirement has now been abolished by Microsoft.

This means that the XP mode can be used on almost all computers.

This share is loaded and installed on the computer using the update function.

The update responsible has the number: KB977206.

Although Windows 7 has become a bestseller, there could be another big boost in sales.

Many users have hesitated to buy Windows 7 because older software could not be used.

All of that now seems to be a thing of the past.
