Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 supports Mountain Lion

31.07.2012 - The Paragon Software Group presents its NTFS driver in an updated version that is compatible with the new Apple operating system OS X Mountain Lion. Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 gives the user even faster access to NTFS and HFS + formatted files than its predecessor 9.5.

Paragon ntfs driver for Apple Mountain Lion Apple has recently been climbing lofty heights with their “Mountain Lion”, and Paragon is climbing with them: The current NTFS driver from the Freiburg-based software manufacturer takes care of seamless data exchange between the Windows and Mac OS X operating systems as usual. New: Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 is the first cross-platform software solution that supports the Apple operating system OS X Mountain Lion, which was released in July. The Paragon Software Group has made sure that the proud owners of the “Mountain Lion” can access Windows partitions from their Mac without hindrance - so that in the end they may forget which operating system they are currently using. The driver is currently the fastest of its kind on the market, and the NTFS performance has been improved again compared to the previous version. Unrestricted access to HFS / HFS + files via Windows Explorer has also been ensured again, thanks to the tried and tested "HFS + for Windows" function - however, this is only included in the box version, not in the download version.
Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 is now available for download from the Paragon website at a price of 19,95 euros (excluding HFS + for Windows). The box version including HFS + for Windows costs 29,95 euros and will be available from specialist retailers from August.

Efficient, cross-platform solution

The problem is well known: Mac OS X still offers only limited support for working with NTFS, the standard file system of every Windows computer. Files and directories on NTFS partitions can only be read, but not created, deleted or changed. The Paragon NTFS driver for Mac OS X provides a remedy: The program gives Mac users longing for Windows unrestricted access to every NTFS version.

Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 increases the transfer speeds of NTFS-formatted data carriers to the Mac again. Especially with SSDs and the Thunderbolt interface built into current and future Mac computers, this ensures that the possible transfer rates can also be maxed out. The product is an efficient solution for users who want to work across platforms by transferring data between Mac and Windows. Mac users are given full read and write access to Microsoft NTFS partitions so that existing files can be easily edited between the two operating systems without additional hardware or software. For users who work with both Windows and Mac OS X, Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 also offers the HFS + module for Windows as a box version, which enables read and write access to Apple hard drives from the Windows operating system. HFS + for Windows is no longer included in the download version, which is now available.

Paragon ensures free data exchange in good time

"Apple brought the Lion successor to the market unusually early, possibly as a response to the release of the new Microsoft operating system Windows 8," suspects Konstantin Komarov, Managing Director of the Paragon Software Group. “We have followed developments at Apple closely and with NTFS for Mac OS X 10 we are ensuring free data exchange in good time, because this is exactly what our customers expect from Paragon software. Why watch as unnecessary hurdles - for example operating systems that do not recognize certain data carriers - make life difficult for the user when these obstacles can be overcome? "

Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X 10 is based on Paragon's Universal File System Driver (UFSD) technology. This was specially developed to enable full access to the content of the most popular file systems on various platforms. The Paragon Software Group has thus created a two-way transmission channel between Windows, Mac and other operating systems such as Linux. Other drivers in the Paragon range include: NTFS for Linux, NTFS and HFS + for Android, HFS + for Linux, ExtFS for Mac, HFS + Browser for Windows and ExtFS Browser for Windows.
